In 2023, Cottleville Weldon Spring Kiwanis Club members hosted the first CWS Kiwanis Club Play Ball Classic. Now 2025 is the third event and it’s still going strong.

Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14 years old were split up into four age groups and taught about hitting, fielding, pitching, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. There were several volunteer coaches with semi-pro baseball experience as well as experienced volunteer Kiwanis club members. Players were rotated through the various aspects of the game and were taught many skills.

St. Charles County First Responders were present to give tours of their vehicles much to the delight of the kids and their families.
Lunch was served at noon and afterwards everyone participated in the Home Run Derby.
Trophies and medals were presented at a ceremony.
